BINGHAMTON -- The biggest wrestlers were the brightest stars for the Adirondack Region scholastic team Saturday at the Empire State Games.
Adirondack won gold medals in four of the five heaviest weights during the scholastic Greco-Roman finals, with 275-pounder Tom DePalma (Central Bridge) defending his title from 1999, and 220-pounder Zach Monforte of Warrensburg adding another gold to the ESG freestyle gold he won Friday.
Johnstown resident Jake Blowers won the gold at 167 pounds, and East Greenbush native Anthony Cohen claimed gold for Adirondack at 192 pounds.
